If you like the idea of a readers Bible but you want to be able to use your Bible in a bible study or during a church service you may just fall in love with this one. I am quite happy with it and think that many people would find this Bible prefect for their use. I purchased this Bible before I purchased a Schuyler Quentel. This certainly is a bible that one would expect to hear the word of God preached from. I am glad that this is my first premium bible because, being in the market for a second now, I can scarcely find one that I like better. I replaced my two black ribbons with three longer crimson ribbons and the aesthetic is absolutely breathtaking.Īll of that being said, this bible will last a very long time and will serve any minister or layperson well. The goatskin is beautiful and my bible had no noticeable flaws or defects, the gold lining on the cover liner and the pages are beautiful, and the spine is tastefully done (no over branding the “ESV” as in previous crossway editions), but the ribbons are laughable. I am used to reading with paragraph format but I do with that this one was in verse format for preaching. One thing that I don’t like about “wide margin bibles” is the square look that many of them tend to take on and this is not the case with this bible at all Crossway did a great job making this margin very usable. The margins are also generous I have yet to run out of space for notes. The font is a great size, the layout is wonderful, and the 36 GSM paper is fantastic to use with micron pens.

This bible is a good size, maybe a bit big for my liking but not uncomfortable to use by any means.

To clarify, I think that you could probably find a higher quality bible (the heirloom or omega maybe) for the list of $200 but it is certainly worth the $125 on evangelicalbible. This is the first premium bible that I have purchased and, after quite a bit of use, I would certainly purchase this bible again at this price point.
